On the 19th, a post titled 'A note left on my wife's car' was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, began by saying, "I received many missed calls and wondered what was going on, so I went outside and found a note attached to my wife's car."

In the photo Mr. A shared, a yellow memo reads, "Sir, I am sorry. While parking my car and coming out, I think I scratched the right fender of your car." Another note politely apologizes and includes the person's phone number, saying, "I am very sorry. Please be sure to contact me at this number."

Mr. A explained the situation, saying, "After seeing the note and inspecting the car, the right fender was indeed scratched. When I called the number on the note, the person kept apologizing and said, 'Sir, I am truly sorry. I will cover all the repair costs.'

He continued, "While listening, I said just two sentences: 'Are you hurt anywhere? I will take care of the repairs myself.' I told him I would not accept the repair costs. Although it stings inside and I worry about my wife's nagging, I plan to tell her I scratched a utility pole and accept the consequences."

Mr. A left the post with a smile, saying, "It feels like a single word can mean so much. He apologized both with the note and on the phone, so I had no choice but to let it go. (Since I’m worried about my wife's reaction) I don’t think I can go home today."

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "A single word can repay a thousand debts," "The owner has a very generous heart," "At that level, insurance should have been used, but what a wonderful person," "Both the person who left the note and the victim car owner are truly admirable and great," "Wishing you lots of blessings," "A true magnanimous person," and "Your character is truly amazing."
