The Ministry of Education reported that as of 5 p.m. on the 19th, facility damage was recorded at 137 schools nationwide due to the heavy rainfall from the 17th to the 19th.
There were 83 schools with leaks, 20 schools with flooding, 19 schools with partial damage, and 15 schools with other types of damage.
By region, Gyeonggi had the most facility damage with 60 schools affected. This was followed by Seoul with 29 schools, Incheon with 18 schools, Chungnam with 12 schools, Gangwon with 6 schools, Sejong and Jeonbuk with 5 schools each, and Daejeon and Chungbuk with 1 school each.
There were no casualties.
On that day, two schools in Gyeonggi adjusted their academic schedules. One middle school adjusted its start time, and one high school implemented shortened classes.
