Seo Young-jae, CEO of DL E&C (photo), has tendered his resignation just two months after taking office. His successor is expected to be Park Sang-shin, CEO of DL Construction.
According to the construction industry on the 19th, Seo recently submitted his resignation to the company. Seo, who previously worked at LG Electronics, was appointed as the new CEO of DL E&C last May. He has no experience in the construction industry. At the time of his appointment, DL E&C announced plans to focus on discovering and nurturing new businesses and managing risks through Seo.
The specific reason for Seo's departure after only two months has not been disclosed. However, some speculate that the burden of managing a construction business, which differs from manufacturing, may have played a role. A DL E&C official explained, "We understand that he resigned due to personal reasons."
DL E&C plans to hold a board meeting on the 14th of next month to appoint Park Sang-shin, CEO of DL Construction, as the new CEO. Park will concurrently serve as CEO of both DL E&C and DL Construction.
