Hurim Robot is testing robot introduction for Selector... Expects 30 billion KRW if manufactured directly

Hurim Robot is accelerating its entry into the equipment business.

Hurim Robot announced on the 19th that it is conducting its own tests to introduce its Cartesian robot into the 'Selector,' a key process equipment in the secondary battery logistics line.

Hurim Robot is pursuing the acquisition of EQCell, a company specializing in secondary battery and solar equipment. Based on this, the company plans to directly manufacture and supply the Selector in the future.

Hurim Robot has been advancing its technology related to wafer transfer robots (WTR) to develop the semiconductor wafer transfer device EFEM, while also promoting the supply of equipment that inspects terminal plates, a key component of secondary batteries.

Kim Bong-gwan, CEO of Hurim Robot, said, "If the test for introducing the Selector is passed, we expect annual sales of about 3 billion KRW," adding, "If we proceed with direct manufacturing and supply in the future, we anticipate sales of about 20 to 30 billion KRW."

He continued, "As the manufacturing paradigm is changing with factory automation, smart factories, and AI autonomous manufacturing, the importance of equipment utilizing robots is increasing. We will strive to expand our business into the equipment sector."

Meanwhile, Hurim Robot also supplied TR robots and ultra-long stroke Cartesian robots to NPS, a solar panel manufacturing equipment developed by EQCell, last May.
