On the 19th, Yonhap News reported that the Mokpo Police Station in Jeonnam applied for an arrest warrant for Kim Mo (54), who was arrested on charges including special rape.

Kim is suspected of committing sexual assault and special robbery crimes in Jeonnam and other areas between 2006 and 2007. The police publicly issued a wanted notice for Kim as a high-priority suspect, but he evaded capture for 18 years. From 2012, Kim's face was featured on the nationwide comprehensive wanted list of high-priority suspects at various police stations for 12 years. The wanted poster described Kim's characteristics as "height 170 cm, average build, fair complexion, Jeolla dialect."

However, on the 17th, a citizen in Seoul recognized Kim's features from the comprehensive wanted poster and reported it to the police. The responding officers immediately apprehended Kim. It is reported that the citizen noticed the resemblance between the wanted poster's photo of Kim and a patient's face they had observed regularly and made the report.

The police have transferred Kim to Mokpo, where the incident occurred, to investigate the circumstances of the case and his escape process. The statute of limitations for Kim's charges extends until 2027.
