Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Council Completes New Formation of 'Budget Committee and Ethics Special Committee'

The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City has newly formed the second half Budget and Accounts Special Committee and the Ethics Special Committee.

On the 18th, at the 1st plenary session of the 290th extraordinary meeting, the Gwangsan District Council appointed 10 members to the Budget and Accounts Committee and 8 members to the Ethics Committee, and held a meeting that afternoon to elect the chairperson and vice-chairperson.

The Budget and Accounts Special Committee is composed of Chairperson Park Mi-ok, Vice-Chairperson Kang Han-sol, and members Guk Kang-hyun, Yoon Hye-young, Jo Young-im, Kim Tae-wan, Gong Byung-cheol, Kim Eun-jung, Jeong Jae-bong, and Han Yoon-hee. Their term is one year, active until June 30, 2025.

The Ethics Special Committee consists of Chairperson Jeong Jae-bong, Vice-Chairperson Jo Young-im, and members Park Hyun-seok, Park Mi-ok, Lee Woo-hyung, Kim Young-seon, and Kim Myung-sook. They will serve for two years from the date of appointment.

Chairperson Park Mi-ok stated, “Since I have been entrusted once again with the important task of overseeing the precious budget collected from the residents' taxes, I intend to carry out my duties with greater dedication and responsibility.” She added, “Above all, I will carefully review the entire process of budget formulation and execution from the residents' perspective to ensure sound financial management.”

Chairperson Jeong Jae-bong said, “For the council to be trusted, all members must abide by the code of ethics and set an example.” He continued, “I will do my best to support the Gwangsan District Council so that it can gain the trust of residents through transparent and honest legislative activities.”
