"Having breakfast together every day in the cafeteria and facing each other seems to naturally encourage open communication and active interaction."

Since Hong Cheol-ho, the Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Presidential Office, took office last April and expanded the Political Affairs Secretariat from three to four secretaries, a new culture has taken root. The 'breakfast meeting,' where they build camaraderie and share the day's issues while eating breakfast together, has become a regular practice.

Senior Secretary Hong proposed the breakfast meeting with the intention of "taking care of health while working hard." Kim Myung-yeon (First Secretary), Jung Seung-yeon (Second Secretary), Kim Jang-soo (Secretary for Political Planning), and Gu Man-seop (Secretary for Local Era) responded enthusiastically. As a result, the Political Affairs Secretariat staff, including administrative officers totaling 23 people, gather every morning in the cafeteria.

A Political Affairs Secretariat official said, "It not only helps build closeness but also greatly aids in referencing the sharp thoughts, ideas, and judgment of younger people in political affairs." Another staff member hinted, "Since we see each other often and eat together, reporting has become easier than before." The breakfast gatherings of the staff are reportedly receiving positive feedback not only for reorganizing responses to issues but also for fostering friendship.
