Senizen, a total solution specialist in food safety, announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the Best Corporate Research Institute for the first half of 2024.
On the 18th at 10:30 a.m., Park Jeong-ung, CEO of Senizen, attended the '2024 Excellent Corporate Research Institute Certificate Award Ceremony' held at The-K Hotel in Seoul and received the certificate for Best Corporate Research Institute.
The Ministry of Science and ICT selected 24 companies as 'Excellent Corporate Research Institutes' for the first half of 2024. This selection was made after companies verified their basic R&D capabilities independently, followed by a three-stage evaluation involving experts in each field (presentation review → on-site review → comprehensive review). Among them, two research institutes at the global top level or with potential to grow to a world-class level were selected as Best Corporate Research Institutes.
The 'Excellent Corporate Research Institute' designation system, led by the Ministry of Science and ICT, was first introduced in 2017 with the goal of promoting qualitative growth in corporate R&D and fostering leading models that other companies can benchmark. Through this system, a total of 321 excellent corporate research institutes have been selected up to the second half of last year.
Senizen holds 165 intellectual property rights domestically and internationally based on high expertise and excellent research achievements. It has also strengthened its competitiveness in the food safety field by launching PCR-based molecular diagnostic product Genelix™ and GeNext™, the world's first NGS panel product capable of simultaneously detecting 16 types of foodborne pathogens in 384 samples. Furthermore, it was listed on the KOSDAQ market last November after obtaining A grades from two technology credit rating agencies (TCB) designated by the Korea Exchange early last year.
Thus, Senizen has earned the honor of being designated as the Best Corporate Research Institute for the third consecutive time, following the first halves of 2018 and 2021, along with the title of Best Corporate Research Institute.
