Domestic and International Students Take Classes Together... From International Relations Lectures to Marine Sports Courses

The program, organized by the Office of International Affairs at Pukyong National University (Director Kim Hyunwoo), is the university's flagship international exchange program, where domestic and international students attend summer session lectures together, interact, and build a global network.
Pukyong National University, located near Gwangalli, one of Busan's major tourist attractions, has welcomed over 100 international students to this program every year. This year, a record-high total of 233 participants joined from 30 universities in 10 countries, including 42 students from Pukyong National University as well as students from Greece, Latvia, Malaysia, the United States, India, Indonesia, China, the Czech Republic, and Taiwan.
Starting with the opening ceremony, participants will choose and complete eight courses offered by various departments and offices at Pukyong National University until the completion ceremony on August 14.
Through courses such as "Understanding International Relations," "Global Culture I & II," and "Reading Korean Culture," participants will not only develop a global perspective, but also explore various places in Busan and experience traditional Korean culture.
In particular, courses such as "Sailing Yacht" and "Understanding Sports Diving and the Underwater Environment," which provide professional marine sports experiences, as well as "Understanding and Practice of Model Ship Making," reflecting the characteristics of the maritime city of Busan, will be offered. All courses completed by participants will be recognized as credits at their home universities.
As of April, Pukyong National University has 1,678 international students from 71 countries enrolled in undergraduate, master's, doctoral, integrated master's-doctoral, exchange, and language training programs.
