Deepnoid, a medical artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company, held an academic exchange seminar on tuberculosis with the Department of Physiology at the College of Medicine, University of the Philippines (UP), the Philippines' top national university, during their visit to Korea.
The seminar was held to share the current status of tuberculosis incidence in both countries and to explore ways to eradicate tuberculosis. Professors from the Department of Physiology at the UP College of Medicine and domestic tuberculosis and healthcare experts attended and exchanged opinions. Deepnoid's CMO, Hyunseok Choi, provided a detailed explanation on how the AI-based lung disease detection assistance software DEEP:CHEST can be utilized to triage candidates for tuberculosis testing or treatment.
The professors visited Deepnoid's headquarters to experience the solution firsthand and also showed interest in DEEP:NEURO, an AI-based software that assists in diagnosing cerebral aneurysms.
Deepnoid's CMO Hyunseok Choi stated, "The Philippines aims to improve the treatment system for tuberculosis patients. Through academic exchanges, we shared information about the medical situations in both countries and had various discussions on joint solutions, so we will seek future cooperation plans."
Maria Theresa B. Dizon De Vega, the Philippine Ambassador to Korea, attended and expressed gratitude for the cooperation between the two countries regarding the eradication of tuberculosis in the Philippines.
