Woowa Brothers, the logistics service provider for Baedal Minjok (Baemin), announced on the 19th that they jointly conducted a ‘Summer Rider Safety Campaign’ with the bargaining representative union, the Delivery Platform Labor Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation.

The campaign was carried out by distributing summer safety supplies and ice water to riders, selected based on the delivery union's feedback. Woowa Brothers provided essential summer safety items such as anti-fog spray and film, water-repellent coating, and mesh helmet liners to riders in key areas where risk assessments were conducted, including Gangnam and Gangbuk in Seoul, Bucheon in Gyeonggi Province, Daegu, and Busan. Additionally, to prevent heat-related illnesses among riders, bottled water and ice water were distributed at rider rest areas and Baemin B Mart locations in these regions.

According to Woowa Brothers, the risk assessment survey conducted in June revealed that road environment factors occurring on the road during operation posed the highest risk. Among these, ‘deterioration of road conditions due to adverse weather’ was identified as a major factor requiring improvement. Therefore, Woowa Brothers explained that they provided various essential summer safety supplies and simultaneously carried out a campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses to help prevent accidents.

A Woowa Brothers representative stated, “Baedal Minjok is the only company in the industry that continuously signs collective agreements with the bargaining representative union, the Delivery Platform Labor Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation, and is making various efforts such as citizen inspection group activities to resolve road environment deterioration issues. Since rider safety is our top priority, Woowa Brothers will do their best to ensure that riders can deliver in a safer environment this summer as well.”
