Taekwang Group Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation Provides Scholarships to 56 University Students

Up to 5 Semesters Tuition or 1.7 Million Won Living Expenses per Semester

Taekwang Group Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation announced on the 19th that it awarded scholarship certificates to 56 domestic undergraduate scholarship students of the 32nd term for 2024 at the Heungkuk Life Insurance Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.


The selected scholarship students are second-year first-semester students enrolled in four-year universities in Korea, including 22 students each from the humanities and social sciences and natural sciences and engineering fields, and 12 students from arts and physical education fields. They will receive full tuition support or a living allowance of 1.7 million KRW per semester along with academic assistance for up to five semesters.


The scholarship students conduct mentoring activities for elementary, middle, and high school students living in "Child and Youth Shared Living Homes" (group homes). They participate in volunteer work for a total of 30 hours per semester, once a week for two hours, providing academic guidance to the children in the group homes.

At the award ceremony, eight outstanding mentors who diligently carried out group home mentoring volunteer activities were commended. Afterwards, a two-day summer camp was held at the Heungkuk Life Insurance Yongin Training Center, where the scholarship students received basic mentoring education and fundamental scholarship student training, and had networking time with senior scholarship students.


Chairman Lee Woo-jin stated, "The Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation will seek practical support measures so that scholarship students can grow into talents who fulfill social responsibilities."


The Ilju Foundation has been selecting scholarship students for 33 years since 1991, providing a total of 57.5 billion KRW in scholarships and support for social contribution projects to 1,845 students to date.
