Former Foreign Minister Qin Gang's Resignation Accepted... Removed from Communist Party Central Committee
"Implementation of Measures to Address Key Risks Such as Real Estate and Local Government Debt"
The 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, which determines the future direction of China's economic policy, concluded on the 18th.
According to a report by China's Xinhua News Agency on the day, the Party Central Committee concluded the 3rd Plenary Session held at the Jingxi Hotel in Beijing and passed the "Decision of the Party Central Committee on Further Deepening Comprehensive Reform and Promoting Chinese-style Modernization."
The meeting was attended by 199 members of the Central Committee and 165 alternate members of the Central Committee. In addition, members of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, heads of relevant departments, and delegates of the 20th National Congress including local officials, experts, and scholars also attended as observers.
Earlier on the opening day, General Secretary Xi delivered a work report on behalf of the Central Political Bureau and explained the draft of the "Decision." The meeting reported that the Political Bureau of the Central Committee unanimously agreed to promote high-quality development and deepen comprehensive reform.
At the 3rd Plenary Session, the resignation request of former Foreign Minister Qin Gang was accepted, removing him from the Party Central Committee membership. Personnel measures were also taken to strip the Party membership of former Minister of National Defense Li Shangfu and former Rocket Force Commander Li Yuchao, who are suspected of corruption.
