Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, is operating an unmanned store on the first basement floor of the Woongsang Library as part of the senior job creation project, managed by the Woongsang Senior Club, the implementing agency.
Woongsang Library had previously attempted to recruit a store operator to improve user convenience, but faced difficulties due to accessibility issues. In addition, citizens using the library experienced inconvenience because there were no nearby convenience stores where they could have a simple meal or snack.
After considering various measures to enhance user convenience, the relevant authorities planned an unmanned store inside Woongsang Library in cooperation with the Woongsang Senior Club, which implements the senior job creation project. As a result, the Baramkkot Store (Branch 1) at Woongsang Library opened on July 16 and is currently in operation.
Currently, only simple snacks are available, but depending on the operation status, the Woongsang Senior Club plans to expand the selection by adding items preferred by users.
A Yangsan City official said, "Through this unmanned store project, we hope to provide job opportunities for seniors and a convenient place for citizens to enjoy snacks such as ramen, thereby improving the convenience of library users. We will continue to do our best to promote projects that benefit citizens in the future."
