The Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association (hereinafter referred to as the MainBiz Association) announced on the 18th that it held the ‘Procurement Service-MainBiz Meeting for Innovative Growth of Small and Medium Enterprises’ at the Seoul Regional Public Procurement Service.
This meeting was jointly organized by the MainBiz Association and the Public Procurement Service to listen to the on-site difficulties and suggestions of MainBiz companies and to discuss the discovery and improvement plans of on-site based killer procurement regulations.
Kim Myung-jin, president of the MainBiz Association, said, “MainBiz Association member companies are also facing unavoidable pressure on business management due to increased financing costs caused by lack of funds and high interest rates. Direct financial support for scale-up such as working capital and facility investment is urgently needed, but increasing sales through market promotion will be the fundamental remedy that leads to improving corporate finance and credit and sustainable growth.”
He added, “I hope that small and medium enterprises and the Public Procurement Service will frequently communicate and prepare good policies that small and medium business owners can feel on-site through active institutional improvements.”
The MainBiz entrepreneurs attending the meeting proposed measures such as ▲ improvement of the scoring system related to MAS Phase 2 competition ▲ introduction of a payment linkage system for government projects commissioned by the Public Procurement Service ▲ improvement of credibility evaluation criteria for the Public Procurement Service’s excellent product designation system ▲ relaxation of excessive sanctions on dishonest contractors ▲ adjustment of the bid discount rate in the qualification evaluation system (goods purchase) ▲ expansion of demand such as public market channels for designated innovative products ▲ improvement of the application deadline for excellent procurement products (patented products).
Lim Ki-geun, head of the Public Procurement Service, urged, “Please actively utilize the Public Procurement Guide system currently in operation and freely provide opinions on the need for regulatory improvements felt on-site at any time,” and stated, “We will thoroughly review the suggestions from this meeting and actively reflect necessary improvements in policies.”
The Public Procurement Guide is a one-stop consulting service that provides necessary information at each stage from procurement company registration to designation as a promising export company for companies struggling to enter the public procurement market due to lack of information.
