Pilot Operation from August 1, Full Operation Next Year
10 Types of 26 Water Play Equipment, Picnic Tables, etc.
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the Nadri Water Park on a trial basis from August 1 to 20.
The county is creating a 1,545㎡ Nadri Water Park within the Nadri Market site to revitalize the Jirisan Hot Spring Tourist Area in Sandong-myeon. Construction began in January last year and is scheduled to be completed by the end of July this year.
The Nadri Water Park is a water play facility that can accommodate 1,000 people per day, equipped with 26 water play equipment of 10 types including a comprehensive playground themed on the Jirisan Asiatic Black Bear, ground fountains, and auxiliary facilities such as restrooms, showers, shade tents, and picnic tables.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., running seven sessions a day with 50 minutes of operation followed by a 10-minute break each hour.
It is available to all residents and tourists, but children under 6 years old who are not yet in school can only use the facility when accompanied by a guardian. However, entry is only allowed with aqua shoes or barefoot.
The county plans to address any issues after this year’s trial operation and start full operation from July next year.
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “I hope everyone cools off from this summer’s heat at the Nadri Water Park and creates wonderful memories with their beloved family and friends.”
Meanwhile, to revitalize the stagnant Sandong Hot Spring Tourist Area and realize the Gurye tourism renaissance, the county is promoting various projects including the Nadri Water Park, Sansuyu Maze Park, Sansuyu Love Park Observation Tower, and the creation of Jirisan Hot Spring CC.
