The KOSPI closed below the 2820 level, declining due to foreign selling. Samsung Electronics started down more than 3% but closed slightly higher in the afternoon on incoming buying pressure.

By investor type, individuals and institutions were net buyers of 375.9 billion KRW and 42.2 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, foreigners were net sellers of 381.4 billion KRW.
By sector, telecommunications rose 2.55%. Food and beverages also increased by more than 1%. Conversely, textiles and apparel fell 3.37%, and machinery declined by more than 2%. Manufacturing, construction, and pharmaceuticals closed slightly lower.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 86,900 KRW, up 200 KRW (0.23%) from the previous day. SK Hynix fell 3.63%. Hyundai Motor and Celltrion both dropped more than 2%. Samsung C&T Corporation declined by more than 1%.
On this day, 277 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, while 605 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit. 51 stocks closed unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 822.48, down 6.93 points (0.84%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, institutions were net sellers of 83.2 billion KRW. In contrast, individuals and foreigners were net buyers of 13.1 billion KRW and 77 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, finance rose 1.89%. Meanwhile, medical and precision instruments, other services, transportation, construction, chemicals, and metals all declined by more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 182,200 KRW, up 3,200 KRW (1.79%) from the previous day. EcoPro also rose 3.70%. On the other hand, Alteogen fell 4.01%. Celltrion Pharm, Enchem, and Classys all declined more than 2%.
On the KOSDAQ, Xicure and DXVX hit the upper limit, with 362 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 1,213 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 82 stocks closed unchanged.
