Benefits for 7 Vulnerable Multi-Child Families... Improving Housing Conditions and Creating Study Rooms
Careful Consideration of Each Recipient's Situation from the Early Stage Increases Satisfaction
A Representative Case of Public-Private Cooperation in Housing Welfare Achieved in the 8th Civilian Administration
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has joined hands with KT Estate and the KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation to participate in social contribution activities aimed at improving the housing conditions of vulnerable groups.
This project is a partnership with the underprivileged, improving the living conditions of seven vulnerable multi-child families in the area by carrying out wallpapering and flooring work, installing insect screens, replacing lights and toilets, and providing new desks, chairs, and beds so that school-age children can study in a comfortable environment.
From the initial stage, careful on-site measurements and needs assessments were conducted to ensure customized design and construction tailored to each recipient's situation, thereby increasing satisfaction.
In particular, Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, personally visited the site to help remove built-in wardrobes, floor coverings, and storage units, as well as to manage waste disposal and clean the surroundings. Additionally, Nam-chul Choi, CEO of KT Estate, who shared the same commitment, lent a hand by moving wardrobes, refrigerators, and beds.
Nam-chul Choi, CEO of KT Estate, said, “It was a very meaningful occasion to assist vulnerable housing groups together with Gwangjin-gu Office. We will continue various social contribution activities that can contribute to the local community.”
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu stated, “Through this housing improvement project, we hope that vulnerable households can live in a safe and comfortable environment,” adding, “We will make multifaceted efforts to enhance welfare, including partnerships with companies, to provide practical help to residents' lives.”
Meanwhile, since the 8th local government administration, Gwangjin-gu has supported 15 households with poor housing conditions annually through social contribution agreements with companies, which has been recognized as a representative case of housing welfare achieved through public-private cooperation.
