An American influencer who made about $200,000 (approximately 280 million KRW) by selling her own farts bottled in jars secretly dated a U.S. senator for a year and revealed that he had bizarre tastes.

On the 16th (local time), the British Daily Mail reported that Stephanie Mato (33), an American influencer who became famous after appearing on the U.S. reality TV show "90 Day Fianc?," recently revealed on TikTok that she secretly dated a U.S. senator and that he actually had strange preferences.

Stephanie posted a video saying, "I have been dating a U.S. senator online for the past year and have kept this a secret until now," and added, "Today, I will expose some dirty secrets about this man." She revealed, "I was paid to have virtual (online) dates where Senator A watched me eat. Senator A even paid to watch me eat tacos," and "He told me to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement)." Stephanie showed herself eating dinner on a video call and said she was paid $10,000 (about 13.8 million KRW) for it. Despite having to be paid for every meeting, Senator A continuously scheduled virtual dates with her.

Stephanie said, "A few weeks ago during a virtual date, he asked me, 'Do you agree with our party's policies?'" She continued, "Then he confessed that he actually had no interest in politics or the people, only in money and power." Stephanie found Senator A’s beliefs too radical and crazy and decided to end the relationship.

Afterward, when Stephanie threatened to reveal Senator A’s identity, he threatened to kick out her family. She said, "One of my family members is an immigrant, and he said he would deport immigrants." Ultimately, Stephanie did not disclose Senator A’s identity but mentioned that he was an avid fisherman. Local netizens speculated that Senator A might be Republican Senators Eric Schmidt, Ted Cruz of Texas, Josh Hawley of Missouri, or Jeff Schroeder of Idaho. However, there is no evidence linking any of them to Stephanie.

Since November 2021, Stephanie had been running a business selling her farts bottled in glass jars for $994 (about 1.37 million KRW). After orders surged, she consumed excessive amounts of food to produce enough farts to fill 50 bottles a week, which led to heart attack symptoms and health problems, forcing her to quit the business. It is reported that she earned over $200,000 (about 280 million KRW) from the fart business.
