Gijang-gun Holds Flash Mob Performance to Promote KTX-Eum Stop Station

Over 300 County Officials and Residents Participate

County Governor Jeong Jongbok: "Not a Choice, but a Necessity"

Gijang-gun in Busan (Governor Jeong Jongbok) held a flash mob performance on the 18th with the participation of county employees to promote the attraction of a KTX-Eum stop in the area.

The event took place at the county office during lunchtime. It was organized to encourage county employees to actively join the collective wish of all residents for the establishment of a KTX-Eum (Cheongnyangni Station~Bujeon Station) stop in Gijang-gun.

Gijang County employees are performing a 'KTX-Eum Station Attraction Flash Mob Performance' at the county office building.

Led by Deputy Governor Lee Dongseong, directors, department heads, and about 300 staff members from the main office participated, chanting slogans and performing a flash mob to express their unified support for attracting a KTX-Eum station to Gijang-gun.

Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "Gijang-gun is already experiencing remarkable growth as a central city in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region," and emphasized, "Establishing a KTX-Eum stop in Gijang-gun is not a choice but a necessity to meet the large-scale transportation demand from areas such as the Osiria Tourism Complex and the Dongnam Radiation Medical Science Industrial Complex."

Governor Jeong added, "We will unite the hearts of all residents and concentrate all administrative efforts until the very end to attract a KTX-Eum stop."

Since completing a feasibility study for attracting a KTX-Eum stop in 2022, Gijang-gun has been actively working toward this goal, including directly submitting a petition with 141,000 signatures from residents to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2023.
