Selected as an Outstanding Company for Energy Saving and Carbon Neutrality Achievements
First Time Company Activities, Not Products, Receive Top Award
Amorepacific announced on the 18th that it received the 'Carbon Neutrality Grand Prize' and the 'Minister of Environment Award' at the 27th Annual Energy Winner Awards ceremony, hosted by the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and the Korea Energy Agency. Amorepacific is the first to receive the highest award in the carbon neutrality category for corporate activities rather than products.
The Annual Energy Winner Awards are divided into the 'Energy Winner Award,' given to products with excellent energy-saving and high-efficiency performance, and the 'Carbon Neutrality Winner Award,' given to companies or products with outstanding activities and achievements related to carbon neutrality. The Carbon Neutrality Winner Award was newly established in 2022 in response to the growing need for carbon neutrality due to climate change. Among these, the most outstanding products and activities are selected as grand prize winners, and from these grand prize winners, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award and the Minister of Environment Award are presented.
Amorepacific declared its sustainable management goal '2030 A More Beautiful Promise' in 2021 and joined RE100, creating and implementing a roadmap to convert 100% of the electricity used at all business sites to renewable energy by 2025. As of 2023, major production sites such as Osan Amore Beauty Park, Daejeon Daily Beauty site, and Shanghai Beauty site have achieved site-level RE100, producing products using 100% renewable energy.
Amorepacific has also established a plastic circulation model by reducing unnecessary plastic use in packaging, improving recyclability, and reusing and collecting containers. Through expanding the application of recycled plastics and lightening packaging materials, it reduced 1,900 tons of new petroleum-based plastics as of 2023.
Amorepacific plans to continue leading various activities for carbon neutrality centered on its sustainable management goal, 'A MORE Beautiful Promise.'
