‘PGA’s star attraction’ Kim Joo-hyung warmed up with ‘Golf Emperor’ Tiger Woods (USA) ahead of the 152nd Open Championship, the ‘oldest major’ (total prize money $17 million).

On the 18th, he posted a photo on his social media showing him practicing a round with Woods. The PGA Tour also featured a video of Kim and Woods practicing together on its website, stating, ‘Woods and Kim Joo-hyung prepared for the 152nd Open with smiles and enjoyment.’

Born in 1975, Woods and Kim Joo-hyung, born in 2002, have a significant age gap but are known to be close on the tour. In 2022, Kim was invited to the Hero World Championship hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, and in 2023, before the Masters, Woods and Kim practiced rounds together.

The Open, the last major tournament of the year, will start its first group at 2:35 PM Korean time on the 18th. The event will be held at Royal Troon Golf Club (par 71, 7,385 yards) in South Ayrshire, Scotland, UK. Kim Joo-hyung will play his first round at 5:47 PM with Bryson DeChambeau (USA) and Ludvig ?berg (Sweden). Woods will start his first round at 10:37 PM with Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay (both USA).
