Kim Kwangyeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, Engages On-site to Revitalize Samsa Maritime Park Commercial District Kim Kwangyeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, communicating on-site to revitalize the Samsa Maritime Park commercial district.

This Field Communication Day event marked the 14th of Governor Kim's term and the 6th this year, with about 10 members of the Samsa Marine Park Merchants Association attending to share their views on the direction of the commercial district's development.

Samsa Marine Park began phased development in 1989, with the Manghyang Tower installed in 1995, the Gyeongbuk Bell in 1998, the outdoor performance stage in 1999, and the Fishing Village Folk Exhibition Hall in 2005, becoming a symbolic park for the region. However, as more than 30 years have passed since its establishment, it is now at a stage where new development strategies need to be explored.

In response, Governor Kim listened to suggestions such as replacing the sidewalk blocks in front of the stores, revitalizing stage performances, installing photo zones and night lighting facilities, and installing guide and standing signs, and discussed concrete plans for revitalization during this communication session.

Additionally, when suggestions were made regarding facility repairs and management?such as clogged drainage, removal of weeds from sidewalks, foul odors from sewers, improvement of public restroom facilities, and environmental maintenance to secure store views?Governor Kim immediately instructed the relevant departments on site to take prompt action.

Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "It is true that Samsa Marine Park, which can be considered the gateway to the region, has remained stagnant for a long time despite its significance," and encouraged, "Let us join forces between the public and private sectors so that the region and commercial district can take another step forward, in connection with the Ganggu Port Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project being carried out through public contest selection."
