This event was organized to strengthen mutual cooperation in disaster safety management and to express gratitude to those who have contributed to improving the Army's safety management capabilities.
The Army Headquarters Chief of Catering and Fuel Operations attended and presented the Army Headquarters Logistics Staff Award to Lee Sangbae, Manager of the Seosan Branch, and Oh Jihoon, Deputy Manager of the Guri Branch, for their contributions to enhancing the Army's safety management capabilities. After the award ceremony, participants toured the oil stockpiling facility and experienced the safety management system firsthand.
Since signing the “Mutual Cooperation Agreement on Disaster Safety Management” in November 2019, the Korea National Oil Corporation and the Army have further strengthened national safety and energy security. Following the agreement, the corporation has conducted special annual safety inspections of fuel storage facilities at Army supply battalions, while the Army has supported disaster response at the corporation’s stockpiling bases.
Going forward, the Korea National Oil Corporation and the Army plan to further strengthen the current disaster safety mutual cooperation system and seek ways to develop it into an integrated security system encompassing both energy and national defense.
Branch Manager Lee Juhyun stated, “I express my gratitude and respect for the Army’s dedication to ensuring national defense security, and we will continue to actively support the improvement of the Army’s safety management system and the promotion of mutual cooperation.”
