Providing Care SOS for Residents in Urgent and Temporary Need of Care
Supporting 90 Low-Income Users of Care SOS with Cooling Blankets
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Woo Seong-hoon) announced that it will provide cooling blankets to 90 vulnerable individuals receiving the Geumcheon Neighborhood Care SOS Service (hereinafter referred to as Care SOS).
The district is providing cooling blankets to help vulnerable groups endure the heat during the hot summer and rainy season.
The recipients are 90 people among Care SOS users, including beneficiaries and near-poverty groups under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act, low-income registered disabled persons, and single-parent families under the Single-Parent Family Support Act.
Care SOS is a service that provides temporary home care, short-term facility care, accompaniment support, meal delivery, and residential convenience services (cleaning, disinfection, repairs, laundry) to residents who urgently need care due to sudden illness, accidents, discharge after surgery, or absence of caregivers.
The service targets middle-aged individuals aged 50 and above, seniors, and disabled persons aged 6 and above, and households with median income at or below 100% can use it free of charge.
Additionally, Geumcheon-gu offers seasonal items for extreme heat and cold, special holiday meals, and nutritional liquid diets to vulnerable residents among Care SOS users as a district-specialized project.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We will continue to provide prompt care services to residents who urgently and temporarily need care through Care SOS.”
