Sweeping a Total of 10 Main Awards, Most Awards for 8 Consecutive Years
LG Electronics announced on the 18th that its chiller, recognized for energy savings and decarbonization as a thermal management solution for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, won the 'Energy Grand Prize' at this year's Energy Winner Awards.
At the 27th Energy Winner Awards, hosted by the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and the Korea Energy Agency, LG Electronics won a total of 10 main awards, setting a record for the most awards in the home appliance industry for eight consecutive years.
The 'Turbo Heat Pump (oil-free turbo water heat pump)' that received this year's Energy Winner Awards 'Energy Grand Prize' is the latest product of the comprehensive air conditioning solution 'Chiller' for heating and cooling large commercial and industrial buildings. This product uses the alternative refrigerant 'R1233zd,' which has a global warming potential less than 1, and applies new electric-based technology to achieve energy savings and decarbonization. It also uses water-source heat pump technology that utilizes 'hydrothermal energy' from water as a heat source, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 29% compared to boilers of the same class that use fossil fuels.

In addition, LG Electronics' '2030 Carbon Neutral Activities,' which consider environmental impacts from product planning stages such as research and development through manufacturing, usage, and disposal, received the 'CO₂ Reduction Award' at this year's Energy Winner Awards. LG Electronics plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the product manufacturing stage by 54.6% by 2030 compared to 2017. It is also expanding all models of seven major product groups (TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, home air conditioners, system air conditioners, monitors) to energy-efficient products, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the product usage stage by 20% compared to 2020. This goal was the first in the domestic home appliance industry to be verified by the 'Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).'
Furthermore, the 'LG Objet Collection Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer (representative model: M875AAA0M1)' was recognized for its high-efficiency smart inverter compressor technology and received the 'Energy Saving Award,' while the 'LG Gram Laptop (representative model: 16Z90S-G)' received the 'Energy Efficiency Award' for features such as battery saving mode. The 'LG All New Styler (representative model: SC5GMR80H),' which achieved high energy efficiency through dual true steam and dynamic moving hanger technology, received the 'Energy Technology Award.'
Additionally, the following products were recognized as energy-efficient and received the 'Energy Winner Award': ▲ LG Tromm Objet Collection Wash Combo (representative model: FH25EAE) ▲ LG CordZero A9S (representative model: 0958AWE) ▲ LG Whisen Objet Collection Dual Cool Wall-mounted Air Conditioner (model: SQ07ES8EES) ▲ LG CordZero A9 Air (representative model: AS9000HR) ▲ LG Multi V S High-Efficiency Residential System Air Conditioner (representative model: RPUQ0604S2R).
Jung Yeon-chae, Vice President and Head of Customer Value Innovation Division at LG Electronics, said, "With differentiated core components and advanced technology, we have once again proven the energy efficiency technology of LG Electronics' premium home appliances that consider not only convenient functions but also the environment."
