Choi Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the 'KCCI Jeju Forum' held at the Shilla Hotel in Jeju on the 17th and said, "Technology has now become so jungle-like that it is impossible to talk about it without mentioning artificial intelligence (AI), and there must be ways to respond to this."

In his opening remarks at the forum, Chairman Choi said, "We designed the Jeju Forum's programs around the theme of 'how to survive in the jungle,'" adding, "It is no longer a well-maintained garden but has become a jungle. It has turned into a wilderness. In the past, there was a system, but now the whole world is not like that. We live in an era where AI grows suddenly and frequently."
He continued, "The polytex (political situation) varies greatly by region," and said, "The United States has also started to change. It has changed in a rather rough way. Situations are emerging where the extreme progressive side moves completely toward conservatism, and I believe there will be policies or discussions that cannot be stopped in the future."
For this reason, Chairman Choi added, "I thought the Jeju Forum should be conducted in a way that deals with how to survive in Jeju," and said, "Holding the Jeju Forum does not mean we have mastered the perfect way to survive in the wilderness, but I hope that through the forum, participants can organize their thoughts, calm their minds, and consider what kind of philosophy they should have in business."
He went on to emphasize, "Looking back at our history, it is true that there have been few times when it was not a jungle, and we have lived by overcoming difficulties," and said, "If our companies innovate and institutional support is provided, I am confident that we will survive well even in the current wilderness."
