Hampyeong-gun Launches Full Operation of 'Namdo Safety School'... Until the End of August

Education on Safety Rules for Elderly Visitors in the Village and More Conducted

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, will conduct safety education for elderly residents aged 65 and over by visiting villages until the end of August.


According to the county on the 17th, the '2024 Namdo Safety School' is being promoted as accident prevention education in response to the increasing risk of safety accidents among the elderly due to rapid aging.

This education will be conducted by Namdo Safety School instructors appointed by Jeollanam-do, who will visit 92 locations such as village halls.


The main education topics include ▲traffic safety (elderly drivers and electric wheelchair use) ▲daily life safety (response to house fires, use of gas and electricity, etc.) ▲seasonal safety rules (preparing for heat waves, heavy rain, flooding, and other disasters) ▲and how to use fire extinguishers.


Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, said, "We expect that the Namdo Safety School's elderly safety education will greatly help improve the elderly's ability to respond to everyday accidents, who are vulnerable to safety accident responses."
