SOOP, the operator of the live streaming platform AfreecaTV, announced on the 17th that it will broadcast the Paris Olympics live.
SOOP will live stream major matches of 32 events at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which opens on the 26th. Starting with the soccer qualifiers on the 24th of this month, it will cover the opening ceremony on the 26th, as well as matches featuring the national teams competing in various sports such as table tennis and swimming.
SOOP will launch a special Paris Olympics page providing related information including the main event schedule, real-time rankings, replays, and highlights. Users can participate not only in the official broadcasts but also in various streamer broadcasts within the AfreecaTV platform, communicating via real-time chat and cheering together.
Additionally, SOOP will offer entertainment such as a 'Drops' event that awards prizes to viewers watching the live broadcasts and a prediction game where users can forecast match results.
Following the Paris Olympics, SOOP plans to live stream the Paralympics, which will be held from August 28 to September 8 next month.
