The Korea Gallery Association (President Hwang Dalseong) announced on the 17th the 10 semi-finalist artists selected for 'Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS,' a program that highlights artists to watch at the 'Korea International Art Fair Kiaf SEOUL 2024' (hereinafter Kiaf), opening on September 4.

The 10 artists selected as semi-finalists for the 2024 Kiaf Highlights are Kang Cheol-gyu (Arario Gallery), Kim Sian (Art Side Gallery), Kim Eun-jin (Geumsan Gallery), Paige Ji-young Moon (Steve Turner Gallery), Betty Muffler (Jan Murphy Gallery), Seo Won-mi (Rahwin Gallery), Jochen Pankratz (Bode Gallery), Lee Se-jun (Space Willing & Dealing), Choi Ji-won (This Weekend Room), and Han Jin (Gallery SP).

The Korea Gallery Association, which hosts Kiaf, has been running the 'Highlights' program since last year to discover and support artists who demonstrate the dynamism of contemporary art among participating galleries.

This year, under the theme of 'New Discoveries and Fresh Encounters,' 10 artists were selected considering not only artistic quality but also originality, contemporaneity, and identity. The association plans to select the final three artists through on-site judging on the opening day of Kiaf, September 3. Each of the three final winners will receive a prize of 10 million KRW.

This year, Kiaf will also collaborate with the Arts Management Support Center and Frieze to host various talk programs inviting diverse figures from the global art world to promote the growth of the art market.
