'Happy Family Life'... Gwangjin-gu, 2024 Haengbok Gwangjin Family Photo Contest Last Year's Contest Winners

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is hosting the 2024 Happy Gwangjin Family Photo Contest under the theme "Happy Daily Life of Gwangjin Families."

The contest includes two categories: "Family Photos" and "Gwangjin Photos." Participants can submit photos capturing happy moments of their family with a description of up to 100 characters, or photos depicting scenes that convey a sense of community bonding in the local area.

Photos taken with digital cameras, drones, or mobile phones are all acceptable. Each participant may submit only one photo, which must be a high-resolution JPG file under 10MB. Only photos taken in 2024 are allowed, and works previously submitted to other contests are ineligible for awards.

Winners will receive prizes: Gold Prize (1 person) 1,000,000 KRW, Silver Prize (3 people) 500,000 KRW, and Bronze Prize (10 people) 200,000 KRW. Award-winning works will be exhibited at the awards ceremony in October and later displayed at local community centers and notable spots in the area.

Eligible participants are residents or those living within the living area of Gwangjin-gu. There is no age restriction, and applications can be submitted online via the Gwangjin-gu Office website from September 1 to 20.

The judging will be conducted by experts recommended by the Gwangjin branch of the Korea Professional Photographers Association. Evaluation will be based on three criteria: relevance to the theme, artistic quality, and usability, following a point allocation system. Winners will be individually notified in October.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, "This is a great opportunity to share happy moments spent with family and neighbors with many people," and added, "We hope all residents interested in photography will freely showcase their artistic talents."

Gwangjin-gu has held the "Beautiful Smile Photo Contest" 24 times from 1999 to 2023. This year, it welcomes participants under the new name "Happy Gwangjin Family Photo." For more details, please contact the Department of Culture and Arts.
