Geochang County Accepting Applications for 2024 New Knowledge-based Farmers Selection

Geochang County in Gyeongnam is accepting applications for candidates for the New Knowledge Farmer selection, which is conducted annually by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, until the 31st.

The candidates are farmers who develop new knowledge to improve agricultural production, processing, and distribution, thereby creating high added value and leading innovation in agriculture and rural communities by sharing the knowledge they have developed with society. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will select the recipients through a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as initiative, creativity, value creation, and social sharing.

Over the past 26 years, a total of 483 people have been selected nationwide, and in Geochang County, five New Knowledge Farmers have been chosen, including Bongnongwon and Sagwa Supae.

Farmers who wish to apply for the New Knowledge Farmer program must submit the application form and supporting documents to the Agricultural Livestock Division of the Agricultural Technology Center by the 31st. The final selection will be made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in November after on-site inspections, evaluations, and reviews.
