Hwaseong-si Selects 6 Companies to Participate in Youth Employment Capacity Building Project

3-month On-the-Job Training at Companies... Strengthening Customized Talent Development for Businesses

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it has selected six companies to participate in the 'Hwaseong Youth Employment Competency Enhancement Project,' aimed at nurturing talent for the city's three major future strategic industries: semiconductors, bio, and future vehicles.

This project is a company-linked internship program promoted in cooperation with semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and bio companies located in Dongtan Technovalley and Hyangnam Pharmaceutical Complex. The city is pursuing the project with the goal of cultivating customized talent for companies through specialized job training for outstanding local talents.

The participating companies are ▲ Hanmi Pharmaceutical, Myungmoon Pharmaceutical, Samsung Medicos (pharmaceutical and bio) ▲ PSK, ELP (semiconductor and electronic components) ▲ Hana Plant (eco-friendly).

Previously, the city selected 20 trainees each for the semiconductor and pharmaceutical/bio fields and is conducting a five-week customized job training course combining theory and practice. Among these trainees, those with excellent grades will be placed in the six selected companies for a three-month on-the-job training. The city will cover all trainee wages. The city plans to sign a business agreement with the participating companies within this month to promote the project.

Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "This project provides unemployed youth with quality work experience opportunities and supports their smooth entry into the labor market," adding, "We will connect customized talent to participating companies so that both companies and youth can thrive together."
