Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 17th that it selected five outstanding cases of proactive administration for the first half of the year through a meeting of the Proactive Administration Committee.
The county has been discovering excellent cases of proactive administration every first and second half of the year to encourage the responsible public officials and to spread a culture of proactive administration within the public service community.
The evaluation is conducted by the Proactive Administration Committee based on five criteria: eligibility for proactive administration, importance and difficulty, and the proactiveness of the person in charge.
For the first half of this year, five cases were finally selected, including ▲increase in support funds for the Hyo-do Coupon and expansion of its usage ▲Sangmudae regional win-win meal service in collaboration with The Born Korea Co., Ltd. ▲resolution of complaints in frequently flooded areas.
The ‘Hyo-do Coupon’ is a senior welfare policy independently promoted by Jangseong-gun, which can be used like cash at barbershops, beauty salons, and bathhouses. Until last year, residents aged 65 or older were given 45,000 KRW quarterly, totaling 180,000 KRW annually.
Starting this year, the county increased the annual usage amount by 33% to 240,000 KRW and introduced the ‘Health Coupon’ to be used for food purchases. The necessary administrative procedures and consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare were promptly completed, and the expanded support has been provided since April.
The case of providing ‘Sangmudae MZ Generation Customized Special Meals’ through collaboration between The Born Korea Co., Ltd., led by CEO Baek Jong-won, local dining businesses, and young chefs was also named an excellent proactive administration case.
The development of menus using agricultural products from Jangseong, holding of tasting events, and signing of business agreements were highly evaluated.
Jangseong-gun, which signed a business agreement with The Born Korea Co., Ltd. last September focusing on developing local specialty foods and workforce training, is preparing to open the ‘The Born Food Service Industry Development Institute Jangseong Center’ in March next year.
It is expected to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of food culture not only in Jangseong but also throughout Jeollanam-do.
Other cases selected as proactive administration examples for the first half of the year include the village drainage installation project that resolved complaints from residents of Sinheung-ri, Bukil-myeon, who had suffered flood damage for eight years, and securing 6 billion KRW in fees for the installation of a waste treatment facility in the Advanced 3 District.
The county plans to produce a card news based on these cases and promote it to cities, counties, and districts nationwide.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “To create a continuously growing Jangseong, bold challenges without fear of failure are absolutely necessary,” and added, “I ask that you continue to actively engage in your work for the happiness of the residents.”
