Dong-A University and Dongseo University Sign MOU with Busan Research Institute

Contributed to Establishing Comprehensive and Systematic Development Strategies for Busan

Pledged Cooperation for the 'Glocal University 30' Project

Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) and Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Busan Research Institute (President Shin Hyunseok) to contribute to the establishment of comprehensive and systematic development strategies for the entire city of Busan.

The signing ceremony, held on the 16th at the main conference room of Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Lee, President Jang, President Shin, and officials from all three institutions.

Through this agreement, Dong-A University, Dongseo University, and the Busan Research Institute will cooperate on the selection and implementation of the "Glocal University 30 Project," the establishment of Busan's mid- to long-term development plans, and research and investigations on major issues facing the city.

Founded in 1992, the Busan Research Institute is a comprehensive regional policy research organization that analyzes and studies key issues in Busan, proposes policy alternatives, and focuses on developing municipal policies to improve the quality of life for citizens. As Busan's leading think tank, it is building a pioneering and intensive research system to ensure the success of the city's core initiatives.

President Lee emphasized, "Local universities and the Busan Research Institute, both of which are facing challenges due to the declining school-age population, share the common goal of 'Busan's development.' For balanced regional development, universities must thrive. We will thoroughly prepare for the official designation of the Glocal University 30 Project and create a foundation for mutual growth between the university and the region."

President Jang stated, "It is meaningful to sign this agreement with the Busan Research Institute, which serves as the brain of Busan and drives the city's development. If we are officially designated for the Glocal University 30 Project, it will not only advance both universities but also contribute to Busan's development. Let us understand the city's policy direction well and work together for Busan's progress."

President Shin promised, "To establish 'Global Hub City Busan,' one of the Busan Research Institute's key projects, it is essential to nurture outstanding talent and ensure that this talent works locally. I will provide strong support so that these two leading universities in Busan can be selected for the Glocal University 30 Project and help lead Busan's development."
