Students Participating in On-Site Training Receive a Stipend and Earn 6 Credits
The Department of Tourism at Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 17th that 12 students are undergoing field training at six institutions inside and outside the province, including Jangheung County Office Tourism Division, Hampyeong Festival Tourism Foundation, Sono Calm Yeosu, Jindo Sol Beach, and Jeju Lotte Hotel, during the summer vacation.
This field training is conducted in connection with the LINC 3.0 project group, and students participating in the field training will earn 6 credits along with a fixed salary.

Ji Seon-gu, a senior student in the Department of Tourism who is doing field training at the Jangheung County Tourism Division, said, “The theories learned in class were very helpful in planning and operating the Jangheung Water Festival, and based on this practical experience, I hope to work in a public tourism organization in the future.”
Professor Lee Jin-hyung of Mokpo National University said, “Through field training, current students can gain various practical experiences,” and added, “We will strengthen students’ employment competitiveness through more systematic field training education in the future.”
The Department of Tourism at Mokpo National University is the most active department in conducting field training among the humanities and social sciences departments, with 20% of enrolled students participating in field training every year.
