"Support for On-site Implementation of Educational Activity Protection System"
The Ministry of Education and the National Council of Superintendents of Education will issue a joint declaration to commemorate the first anniversary of the 'Seoi Elementary School Teacher's Death,' honoring the deceased and pledging to strengthen the protection of educational activities.
On the morning of the 18th, the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Superintendents of Education will hold a memorial ceremony for the first anniversary of the Seoi Elementary School incident along with a meeting to discuss measures to enhance the protection of educational activities at the Tani Bay Hotel in Ulsan.
Based on the discussions held that day, a 'Joint Declaration for the Protection of Educational Activities' is expected to be adopted. The meeting will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-ho, the chairman of the National Council of Superintendents of Education, and superintendents from 17 city and provincial education offices.

The purpose of the joint declaration is to "create a safe educational environment where teachers can fully devote themselves to educational activities and to closely cooperate to ensure the healthy growth and development of all students."
Through the declaration, the following commitments will be made: ▲ Strengthening the protection of teachers' educational activities ▲ Guaranteeing equal educational opportunities for all students ▲ Ensuring schools are safe from infringements on educational activities and malicious complaints ▲ Promoting improvements in laws and systems for the protection of educational activities and customized education, and strengthening financial support ▲ Enhancing mental health prevention education, counseling, and treatment for students and teachers ▲ Striving for mutual trust and cooperation among teachers, students, and parents.
Deputy Prime Minister Lee stated, "We remember and mourn the teacher who left us last year, and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families who deeply miss their precious loved ones," adding, "We will not forget the whole society’s desire to protect and restore teachers' rights, and will continue to communicate with the field to support the establishment of strengthened educational activity protection systems on the ground."
