On the 17th, Professor Seo stated that he is working together with actor Song Hye-kyo to promote awareness of Korean independence movement sites. The guidebook was produced in Korean and French and will be placed at the French Korean Education Center and the Korean Pavilion in the Cit? Internationale Universitaire de Paris. A total of 10,000 copies of the guidebook will be available for use by anyone regardless of nationality.
The donated guidebook provides detailed explanations of representative independence activists such as Seo Young-hae, the Goryeo Tongsinsa, the site of the Paris Committee of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, and the founding site of the Paris Korean Friendship Association. Professor Seo said, "With the upcoming Paris Olympics, many Koreans and foreigners will visit Paris," adding, "We prepared this donation to widely introduce Korean independence movement sites to them."
Professor Seo emphasized, "The preservation status of Korean independence movement sites overseas is not good," and added, "Continuous interest and visits from our people will be the greatest force to raise awareness and preserve the independence movement sites left unattended abroad."
Over the past 13 years, Professor Seo and Ms. Song have donated Korean guidebooks, Korean signboards, and relief artworks of independence activists to 36 Korean independence movement sites overseas.
