Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has developed and launched an app for paramedic training and evaluation.
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) technology-based ‘Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Education and Evaluation Application (App)’ for the training and assessment of paramedics.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 17th that, due to the shift work nature of paramedics, they created the EMS Education and Evaluation App in a mobile app format over four months to provide a continuous learning environment without time and space constraints, and have been using it for paramedics' education and evaluation since the 15th.
This app was developed using a no-code AI platform called Smart Maker, with the participation of three emergency medicine specialists and thirteen EMS education experts. It saved a budget of 120 million KRW in expert labor costs and development time.
The main contents include ▲Standard guidelines for on-site emergency treatment ▲Standard manual for 119 EMS response to mass casualty disasters ▲Integrated guidelines for 119 infectious disease response ▲Pre-hospital emergency patient triage manual ▲EMS-related laws and regulations.
Jo Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "The app allows convenient evaluation of related guidelines anytime and anywhere, which is expected to improve learning effectiveness and provide integrated access to various essential EMS content." He added, "Through this new education and evaluation program, we will strive to cultivate paramedics' expertise and provide high-quality EMS services to the residents."
