SOS Lab Participates in Autonomous Driving Exhibition, Demonstrates Commercialization of High-Performance LiDAR

On the 17th, SOS Lab announced that it will participate in Korea's first autonomous driving specialized exhibition, the ‘2024 Autonomous Driving & Mobility Industry Expo.’ At this exhibition, SOS Lab will showcase and demonstrate the ‘Genesis G90’ vehicle equipped with state-of-the-art high-performance LiDAR.

The 2024 Autonomous Driving & Mobility Industry Expo, the first autonomous driving mobility exhibition held in Korea, will take place from the 17th to the 19th at COEX. Leading companies in the autonomous driving and mobility sectors will participate, covering technologies for perception, decision-making, and control to realize full autonomous driving (Level 4), as well as special-purpose and industrial autonomous driving robots (vehicles).

During the exhibition, SOS Lab will primarily promote its flagship LiDAR products, the ‘ML-A’ and ‘ML-X.’ The prototype of the new ML-A LiDAR will be unveiled for the first time at this event. The ML-A is a high-spec fixed 3D LiDAR optimized for vehicle mounting, capable of detecting up to 300 meters. It covers a total horizontal field of view of 120 degrees based on a pair of LiDARs with a 60-degree horizontal field of view each, enabling more precise recognition of the surrounding environment of autonomous vehicles.

SOS Lab will also introduce the ML-X LiDAR. Compared to its existing 3D LiDAR products, the ML-X has more than doubled its measurement range and resolution, while miniaturization and weight reduction have maximized mounting convenience and usability. While many global competing products require separate modules, the ML-X is a standalone product that can be used without additional modules, making it a more advanced product in terms of efficiency. SOS Lab is accelerating the commercialization of the ML-X through collaboration with global Tier-1 companies and is laying the foundation for mass supply.

An SOS Lab representative stated, “We hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to introduce core LiDAR products applied to autonomous vehicles and to expand global partnerships. At this autonomous driving expo, we also plan to showcase a demonstration case of autonomous driving by mounting the ML-A LiDAR on the Genesis G90 on-site.”

He added, “At ‘CES 2023’ held in Las Vegas, USA, last January, we attracted significant attention by conducting an on-site demo with the high-performance ML-X LiDAR mounted on the front and rear lamps of the ‘Genesis G90’ vehicle. SOS Lab expects that this exhibition will accelerate the commercialization of high-performance LiDAR in the autonomous driving market.”
