For the first time among metropolitan municipalities, Ulsan will provide financial support for facility improvements to accommodations that allow pets. Up to 1 million KRW per room and up to 5 million KRW per establishment can be used for pet-friendly facility expenses.
The city of Ulsan announced that on the 17th at 11 a.m., a meeting regarding support for pet-friendly accommodations will be held at the International Conference Room on the 4th floor of the City Hall main building, attended by about 10 people including officials from Ulsan's and district tourism departments and tourism business representatives.
This meeting was organized to introduce the facility improvement support program for accommodations in Ulsan that convert regular rooms into pet-friendly rooms, in response to the era of 15 million pet owners.
A total budget of 50 million KRW will be allocated to support 50 rooms. Each establishment can receive support for up to 5 rooms, with a maximum of 1 million KRW per room.
The support covers items such as non-slip flooring, wall protection sheets, disinfectants and deodorizers, beds, and stairs needed to convert regular rooms into pet-friendly rooms.
An official from Ulsan City said, "Ulsan has been selected as the first pet-friendly tourism city among metropolitan cities, and we are operating various tourism programs. This time, we plan to expand pet-friendly accommodations to promote tourism for people traveling with their pets."
