Daejeon City Offers 24-Hour Childbirth and Parenting Counseling for Expectant Mothers in Crisis Full-Scale Operation of Regional Consultation Centers for Pregnant Women in Crisis / Daejeon City

Daejeon City announced that it will operate a local counseling center providing customized counseling services for pregnant women in crisis starting from the 19th.


Daejeon Jamowon, designated as the local counseling center, will be responsible for counseling and support related to childbirth and child-rearing for pregnant women in crisis in Daejeon and Sejong, as well as connecting them to related services.


A 24-hour counseling hotline (1308) for childbirth and child-rearing issues will be operated for pregnant women in crisis, and a service will be provided to connect those wishing for protected childbirth to apply for examination and childbirth expenses (1 million won) supported by the National Center for the Rights of the Child.


Additionally, the center will help with applications for the 1.4 million won support fund given during the seven-day deliberation period after protected childbirth, and if the mother is unable to raise the child, it will request child protection measures from the local government.


Kim Nakcheol, Director of Education Policy and Strategy at Daejeon City, said, "Through the operation of the local counseling center, we will actively support childbirth and child-rearing for pregnant women in crisis and strive to ensure the safety and protection of newborn children."
