October 16 Defense Exhibition in Prague, Czech Republic
200 Booths and 10 Promotional Halls Operated
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 17th that it will open a Korean pavilion at the 'Czech Defense and Security Exhibition' held in Prague, Czech Republic, on October 16, supporting the export of 'K-Defense' to Central and Eastern Europe.
The Korean pavilion will be located in a prime area adjacent to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) pavilion to welcome visitors.
Following its defense modernization plan, the Czech Republic has attracted global defense industry attention by doubling its defense budget this year compared to 2020. Czech defense companies are actively expanding production facilities, increasing outsourcing of materials, parts, and equipment, and promoting joint development and joint ventures with overseas companies, which is expected to provide many cooperation opportunities for Korean defense companies.
The exhibition held in the Czech Republic is also regarded as a representative defense exhibition in Central Europe. Global defense companies are expected to set up about 200 booths and operate 10 pavilions.
Im Seong-ju, head of KOTRA's Prague Trade Center, said, "Considering the rapidly increasing local defense demand and the rising awareness of K-Defense, it is an opportune time to enter the Central European defense market through partnerships with Czech defense companies," adding, "We will provide on-site support for participating companies as well as various pre- and post-marketing services to export hopeful companies."
