Up to 1.64 Million KRW Given with Downtown Store LDF PAY
Lotte Duty Free announced on the 17th that it has launched the 3rd generation of its membership program ‘Young Travel Club’ targeting customers in their 20s and 30s, and is running the promotion 'Summer Vacance' to attract domestic customers during the summer vacation season.

On the 16th, Lotte Duty Free began recruiting the 3rd generation of the ‘Young Travel Club’ to nurture potential VIP customers. The Young Travel Club is a paid membership for people in their 20s and 30s, first introduced by Lotte Duty Free in May last year, an industry first. Both the 1st and 2nd generations sold out within a week. Lotte Duty Free’s strategy is to secure loyal customers by offering top-tier benefits and various experiences to the growing 20s and 30s customer base. In fact, about 30% of new members who joined Lotte Duty Free in the first half of this year were in their 20s, the highest proportion.
Membership recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the benefit period lasts up to three months from the date of enrollment until October 15. The membership fee is 300,000 KRW, and members receive ▲ LDF PAY worth 330,000 KRW, which can be used like cash at Lotte Duty Free, ▲ welcome gifts including ‘Melixir Vegan Airfit Sunscreen’ and ‘Dewycell Private Care Mask Pack,’ ▲ double accumulation of LDF Travel Mileage, ▲ grade upgrades, and ▲ access passes to the Myeongdong Main Store Star Lounge, among various other benefits.
Lotte Duty Free has prepared diverse promotions for customers traveling abroad during the summer vacation season. First, at Lotte Duty Free downtown stores, a currency exchange rate compensation promotion runs until July 31 to ease the burden of shopping amid high exchange rates. Especially on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), if the store exchange rate exceeds 1,320 KRW per US dollar on the purchase date, customers can receive up to 490,000 KRW in additional LDF PAY. Including LDF PAY rewards based on purchase amounts, partnerships with Naver Pay and credit card companies, customers can enjoy benefits worth up to 1,640,000 KRW. Additionally, until August 18, customers purchasing items in the fashion, jewelry & watch, leather, and accessory categories at Lotte Duty Free downtown stores will receive PRE LDF PAY worth up to 170,000 KRW, which can be applied immediately based on the purchase amount.
Various prize events have also been organized. Until September 9, Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store and World Tower Store will issue entry tickets to domestic and foreign customers based on their purchase amounts. Winners will receive prizes such as ▲ a one-night stay package at Inspire including admission to the indoor water park ‘Splash Bay,’ ▲ dinner for two at Inspire Chef’s Kitchen, and ▲ LDF PAY. Furthermore, from July 19 to August 13, domestic customers who purchase at least 1 USD at Lotte Duty Free downtown stores will receive scratch coupons, and winners will be awarded 30,000 KRW worth of Baedal Minjok gifticons.
Until August 31, an event doubling the accumulation of 'LDF Travel Mileage' is also underway. In January this year, Lotte Duty Free introduced the ‘LDF Travel Mileage’ system, the first in the domestic duty-free industry, which awards gifts according to the mileage accumulated. During the event period, all domestic customers who apply for the event, purchase products in the fashion or jewelry & watch categories at Lotte Duty Free offline downtown stores, and complete product delivery by September 30 will receive double the mileage.
A Lotte Duty Free official said, “The 1st and 2nd generations of the Young Travel Club membership introduced last year sold out, and we started recruiting the 3rd generation to offer even greater benefits to customers.” He added, “Lotte Duty Free will continue to carry out diverse marketing activities to secure loyal customers.”
