President Yoon Suk-yeol said on the 16th, "Strengthen surveillance of vulnerable areas such as hillsides, lowlands, and semi-basements, and ensure thorough evacuation of residents."

President Yoon gave this order to reinforce emergency response measures after receiving a report on the forecast of heavy rain concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area due to the northward movement of the monsoon front, President Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Jung Hye-jeon conveyed in a written briefing.

President Yoon urged ministers and other officials, saying, "The prolonged monsoon has weakened the ground, increasing the risk of landslides, and this heavy rain could significantly impact flooding in low-lying areas of downtown Seoul. Monitor the weather situation closely."
