Nuclear System Equipment Training to Be Held on the 15th-16th
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director So Yooseop) conducted nuclear power system equipment training for Ulsan City firefighters over two days, from the 15th to the 16th.
The nuclear power system equipment training for firefighters consisted of theoretical education on the overview of nuclear power plant systems, radiation safety management, accident management and radioactive disaster response plans, and environmental radiation, which was held at the Human Resources Development Center, while practical training included field tours of Saeul Unit 2 and the construction site facilities.
Since last year, Saeul Headquarters has been operating customized system and fire protection training for firefighters to strengthen radiation emergency response capabilities and establish a cooperative system with related organizations.
Lee Jeonggyu, a firefighter from Buk-gu Fire Station in Ulsan City who attended this training, said, "I think it will be very helpful in establishing a system for on-site response and countermeasures in the event of an actual emergency."
Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters plans to conduct two more training sessions for firefighters in the future, and expects that this will help firefighters better understand nuclear power.
