A photo essay capturing President Yoon Suk-yeol's livelihood policies and their behind-the-scenes stories in a warm letter format with photos will be distributed nationwide.
The Presidential Office announced on the same day that it will publish and distribute the policy booklet titled "A Letter from the President Has Arrived" starting from the 16th.
This booklet consists of a total of 18 chapters. Chapter 1, "Beginning the People's Discussion," starts with the story of planning a livelihood discussion by dusting off materials from an export strategy meeting held during former President Park Chung-hee's administration, which had been stored deep in a warehouse.
Chapter 3, "The Youth Sleeping in an SUV," includes the story of a 27-year-old youth President Yoon met during his presidential campaign. The president recalled hearing the youth's story about sleeping in a sleeping bag inside an SUV parked in an underground parking lot due to soaring rent prices, which inspired youth housing policies such as "Youth Cost-Price Housing" and "First Home Near Transit."
Also, Chapter 17, "American Pie," talks about the president's reflections when singing at a state dinner at the White House and the strengthened South Korea-U.S. alliance under the Yoon administration. In the book, President Yoon said, "I could not help but recall former President Rhee Syngman, who stood in the same place 70 years ago."
The Presidential Office stated, "Each chapter contains related stories including behind-the-scenes of planning and carrying out the president's activities, policy directions, and statistics, along with over 130 vivid photos." They added, "Especially among the photos are unreleased images, such as the president preparing breakfast at the official residence."
Additionally, it includes President Yoon's remarks to the public related to policies, such as "Making a country where children are happy is our top priority," and "The government must act as both a salesperson and a planner."
The booklet will be distributed nationwide to ministries, public institutions, and public and university libraries by the 20th. Based on this, digital content in the form of "visible radio" will also be produced.
