Champ League Real Diamonds and Future League Heroines Win Championships

Uljin County, North Gyeongsang Province, announced that the '2024 National Women's Baseball Tournament,' which began on the 6th, successfully concluded on the 14th.

This tournament, held under the slogan 'The Breath of Korea, Uljin,' featured 37 teams and over 700 players from across the country, with a total of 37 games played. In the Champ League, the Seoul Real Diamonds team claimed victory over the Daejeon Ladies team, while in the Future League, the Seoul Heroines team emerged victorious after a fierce match against the Seoul Busters team.

The county expects that the visit of over 1,000 players and officials during the tournament period has contributed to the local economy, including food, tourism, and accommodation businesses in the Pyeonghae and Jukbyeon-myeon areas.

Going forward, the county plans to actively promote its optimal conditions, such as well-equipped sports facility infrastructure and administrative support, through proactive sports marketing strategies.

The county also plans to accelerate preparations for the upcoming '2024 U-12 National Youth Elite Baseball Tournament,' which will be held for 11 days starting from the 20th, aiming to further drive regional economic growth.

County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "I hope that a women's baseball team will be established in Uljin in the future to expand the base of women's sports," and added, "We will use the hosting of various national sports events as an opportunity to promote recreational sports and widely publicize Uljin as a tourist destination."
