[The lead organization SYP and the super-gap startup visited TIB, operated in Tokyo Metropolis to support startups (Provided by SYP)]
SYP announced on the 16th that it successfully hosted the 2024 "Chogyeokcha Startup 1000+ Relay IR @ Tokyo" event as the lead organization for investment attraction in the Chogyeokcha Startup 1000+ Project.
The "Chogyeokcha Startup 1000+ Project" is overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and managed by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. It supports the focused nurturing of promising startups in 10 advanced fields including AI and big data by providing assistance in commercialization, R&D, open innovation, investment attraction, and policy funding.
The event, held locally in Tokyo, Japan from the 10th to the 12th, was designed to promote Japanese market entry and investment attraction for Chogyeokcha startups. The detailed program included Japan-tailored IR deck pre-mentoring, visits to local institutions and seminars, workshops, and a demo day.
Notably, the event featured a special session themed around artificial intelligence, a global trend, including a lecture on "Japan's AI Ecosystem" and networking opportunities with local Japanese AI startups invited to connect with Chogyeokcha startups.
As part of the local institution visits, participants visited Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB), operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to support startups, where seminars were held on local infrastructure available to startups and Japanese government support programs for startups.
For the workshops, under the theme of Japanese market entry strategies, Sales Maker's Kasuki Umemura, Deputy Manager, gave a special lecture on "Japanese Market Entry Strategy," and YJ Inc.'s CEO Yang Youngjun delivered a lecture on the "Japanese Local Business Ecosystem."
The demo day held on the 12th was attended by around 30 leading local Japanese investment institutions including △PKSHA Capital △Global Brain △Lotte Ventures Japan △Rakuten Capital △KDDI Group △Vector Group △SBI Investment △Deloitte Japan.
The Chogyeokcha startups participating in the event included 20 companies such as △CROCUS △DouwiseChem △TWIGFARM △Pion Corporation △Infofla △AIRS Inc. △Neurogrin Inc. △Phantomics △Emotiv △GradeHealthChain.
