Composed of 77 Members Including Preparatory Committee City and Provincial Councilors and City Sports Association Executives
Cheonan City in Chungnam held the "77th Chungcheongnam-do Residents Sports Festival Preparation Committee Launching Ceremony."
Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 16th that it has launched the Preparatory Committee for the 77th Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Sports Festival and has officially begun preparations for the event.
The 77th Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Sports Festival, to be held in 2025, will take place in Cheonan for the first time in 21 years. The city is accelerating its preparations by forming a dedicated task force for the event.
The Preparatory Committee, launched on this day, consists of 77 members in commemoration of the 77th festival, including city and provincial council members, executives of the city sports association, heads of related organizations, and leaders of social groups. The committee will be active in areas such as transportation, safety, and public relations.
Mayor Park Sangdon said, "A successful event can only be held if both the Preparatory Committee and Cheonan citizens work together," adding, "Through the promotion of a festival that unites and entertains all residents, we will showcase Cheonan's potential as a 'high-quality cultural and sports city.'"
Meanwhile, the 77th Chungnam Provincial Sports Festival will be held from June 12 to 15, 2025, featuring competitions in 31 sports over four days.
